Adventures with Guinn, part IV.

Happy Fourth of July!

IMGP1258

Today is Guinn's last day with us, and the festive Independence Day holiday has been a great way to wrap up a really fun week.

We woke up early and went to the Park Cities Fourth of July parade. The girls enjoyed watching the parade and retrieving candy that was thrown from cars and floats.

Robert and Vivian found a shady spot to watch the parade. Vivian alternated between being marginally interested and requesting to go home.

We stopped briefly for the post-parade festivities in Goar Park.

After the parade, Guinn and Dots helped me decorate our Fourth of July cake (thanks,
Pioneer Woman and Ina Garten for the inspiration!).

This afternoon we joined another family and cooked out at our friends Wendy and Randy's. Wendy had fixed a fabulous spread of food, and we all had a great time.

Hockey Boy and his friends even put in an appearance (never ones to decline free, good food!).

Tonight Dots and Guinn went with our neighbors to watch fireworks at the Dallas Country Club. They reported that the show was *amazing.*

We have had such a great visit with Guinn here! Lest anyone think we've been all about cultural and civic activities, shopping, restaurants and movies, I should mention that quite a few hours have also been spent playing
Disney's Toontown on dualing computers.

And when it all boils down to it, perhaps the best part about being with your cousin is just spending time together, like lying in bed talking and giggling until the wee hours of the morning.

Thanks for visiting us, Guinn! We hope you'll come back soon.

Thanks Aunt Eloise for a great visit! I really enjoyed myself. Mommy asked where her cheese fries were when I got home!
