I am blessed to have nine cousins on my mom's side of the family and nine on my dad's side. I have many fond memories of growing up with lots of large family gatherings for holidays and birthdays and, more recently, of getting together for weddings.
My sister and I are particularly close to our four girl cousins on our mom's side. The six of us live all over the place now (Marian and Helen in Georgia, Nancy Baby and me in Texas, Cathy in Virginia and Caroline in Maryland), but we keep up regularly through email and have even taken a couple of fun trips together.
We're overdue for a reunion, and I'm hopeful that by posting these pictures I can inspire someone to organize something!
2004 - in New Orleans - we missed you, Cathy!
2004 - in Jackson Hole for Caroline's wedding
2005 - visiting Caroline in San Francisco - this time missing Nancy Baby
2006 - Marian, Caroline and me in Atlanta to surprise Helen on her 30th birthday
Saving the best for last...
1993 - with our beloved Granddaddy at a party before Cathy's wedding. Hard to believe Caroline and Helen are Hockey Boy's age in this picture!!
PS Happy Birthday, Helen!!

That is so cool! I was always at an age where I was about 9 years younger than my first cousins and 10 years older than my second cousins. I was in no man's land but I will say that I have remained close with one of my first cousins. I just hope that Mollianne is close to her baby cousin (who is due in December!) even though he or she will be closer in age with Meisey. Cousins are so important. Here's hoping yours take the hint!
