Vivian had a new x-ray taken of her arm last night, and this morning a pediatric orthopedist at this hospital reviewed it and consulted with us. Vivian has somehow pulled the large screw out of place from her surgery two weeks ago, and she is going to have to have her arm reoperated on at 5:00 this afternoon to repair that. I am relieved that this explains the pain Vivian has been experiencing, though of course I wish she didn't have to go back into surgery. The orthopedist who did Vivian's original surgery is out of town for a week, but the surgeon here trained under him at UT Southwestern and is reviewing Vivian's surgery records from two weeks ago. We liked this pediatric orthopedist a lot and have great confidence in his ability to fix Vivian's arm. Vivian will have to intubated again, but they expect to extubate her immediately after the procedure.
Please pray that Vivian tolerates the anesthesia well, that she is able to come off the ventilator without issue, that Dr. Brown is able to repair Vivian's arm successfully and that this surgery ultimately relieves Vivian's pain.
I will update again after the surgery.

Bless your heart. I am so thankful they found the source of the pain. We are praying.... praying... praying.
Knowing the origin of Vivian's pain and discomfort must provide relief. Yet, my heart breaks for her, and all of you, that additional surgery is required. Prayers for all you ask, and so much more.
I'm glad they found the source of the pain but sorry about the new surgery. Continuing to pray for this new surgery and Vivian's complete recovery.
Oh no. I'll be praying the surgery is successful and Vivian's pain is relieved so she may continue to heal and be moved to rehab very soon. And, that your family continues to find strength, comfort and peace from those who are lifting you up.
Blessings. xoxo
Found you through Kim at 3 Peanuts and am keeping Vivian/your family in my prayers.
Many blessings for the remainder of a hard day and for the surgery to go smoothly.

This is a good finding...another step toward total wellness. I am praying. Please let us know when she is out of surgery. I have added her to our email prayer list. This group of women really know how to pray and are so happy to pray for her. xoxo
Honestly...it feels like the hits just keep on coming.
Bless your hearts ~ you just don't seem to have a chance to catch your breath. I've been holding you in prayer and will add an extra one that the surgery goes smoothly and Vivian's able to handle the meds.
