Will, Dots and I flew to Atlanta today en route to dropping Dots off at camp in North Carolina.
I always enjoy visiting my hometown.
After landing we picked up some food for the ever hungry Hockey Boy at The Varsity, an Atlanta landmark billed as the world's largest drive-in, where my family often ate when I was growing up.
The Varsity is always hopping
We then visited my cousin Susan and her family at their home.
Heading north we stopped in Tallulah Falls, where my cousin Wendy lives. Wendy's sister, Jenna, was visiting from New Orleans with her girls, and we loved seeing them as well as Wendy's family. We were able to spend some time with sweet Katie, who was especially taken with Hockey Boy.
We arrived in time for the Tallulah Falls Bluegrass Festival which is held every Saturday night and draws quite a crowd
With my cousin Jenna and precious Katie
Wendy's husband and son had fun roasting marshmallows
Katie loves her cousins
Tomorrow promises to be equally full as we take Dots to camp then see more family and friends before embarking on a mini college tour for Hockey Boy. Stay tuned!

So wonderful you had a chance to visit with Katie and her family. Sounds like a wonderful family trip!
Eloise, I am so glad you were able to visit your cousin Wendy and her sweet Katie. I know that meant so much to your cousin. Thank you for Katie's photo...it helps when praying to see that sweet face and know thats who we are praying about! Have a wonderful trip and good luck with the college rounds.

What fun to see your cousins before dropping Dots off at camp. I have been praying for Katie after reading the very sad news and am really hoping for a miracle Eloise!!

Hey, I noticed on FB that you and I are both friends with Mary Kent H.--how do you know her?! She and I were sorority sisters in college! I also noticed you are friends with Rebecca Masinter; she is good family friends with my best friend from Baton Rouge. Small world, huh?!
Looks like so much fun. Hope Dots loves camp. M boys did!!!
Love reading your blog. I do not blog but so enjoy reading many favorites that I have discovered.
My daughter (age 8) also attends camp in N.Carolina. She has went to Camp Greystone for the past 2 summers. What a great experience! I hope that Dots has a marvelous time too.
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog and look forward to reading your posts.
You always have such interesting road trips!
Safe travels.
