New address and exoneration.

Thanks to encouragement from my friend Hopsy at Monograms and Manicures, I have purchased the domain name weaselsjourney.com. I decided to do this to make it easier for people to remember my blog address and to make sure that no one else was able to use weaselsjourney.com in the future. You can still access my blog through its old address of http://weaselsjourney.blogspot.com or by the simpler weaselsjourney.com (with or without a www in front of it).

For any other bloggers who are interested in doing this, I'll detail the steps. If you are on Blogger and go through them to do this, it is quite a simple process. (If you go through Google like I did by mistake, it's not quite as simple but still doable.) In your Blogger dashboard, click "Settings" and then "Publishing" and follow the instructions there for using your own domain name. Blogger will set your blogspot address to forward to your new domain name. The cost to purchase a domain name through Blogger or Google is $10/year.

On an another note, my mother was horrified that I published a picture of a meal at her house that showed a ketchup bottle on the table! My grandmother (for whom I'm named) was adamant that containers should never be on the table so we usually have condiments in little bowls, milk and syrup in pitchers, etc. I assured my mother that no one outside the very Deep South (or possibly even our family - LOL) would even notice, but I also told her I'd make a disclaimer on my blog noting that one of the children must have gotten up and brought the ketchup bottle to the table (likely Hockey Boy who also committed the sin of having a Coke can at his place).

It's very cold and overcast here in Jackson Hole today (34 degrees when we woke up this morning!). My dad, Robert and Hockey Boy have set off on an all-day hike while we girls are looking forward to a quiet day at home with perhaps a short return trip to the Art Fair.

More pictures later!

Congrats on the domain name. I too was brought up, in the north, with no containers on the table. In my own household I don't mind unless it's a formal dinner party.

I need to do this so I am so glad you posted about it!!! The ketchup bottle is too funny and sounds like something I'd say!!!! HA!

Tell your Mom that I didn't notice the containers on the table...I was too busy looking at your 3 children enjoying their meal. That's a rarity in this house.

Hope the weather is sunnier tomorrow!

I smile in recognition as my own mom is a bit of a container on the table is a big no-no kind of mom. She has a fancy little do-dad for every type of condiment, jelly, vinegar (for the broccoli...does anyone else do THAT??)...you name it...she can fancy it up. I have fallen sloppily by the wayside on this type of thing...and still take a little bit of pleasure from drinking soda from the can in front of her (horror of all times!).

Congrats on your move!! :-)

Hooray for getting your own domain!! I think Google is by far the best way to register too!

So funny about the ketchup bottle! My mother is the very same way about putting everything in containers.

How cool on the domain name! I didn't realize it was so inexpensive. Oh, and I didn't notice the ketchup I was looking at the yummy corn :)
