I mentioned that my dad had converted over 2000 old slides into digital format and loaded them onto a digital frame that was displayed between our kitchen and den while we were in Jackson Hole. This frame provided hours of entertainment and laughs for us over Christmas. With that many pictures it didn't matter how many times you looked at the frame, you'd see new photos every time.
I downloaded the pictures onto my hard drive and have been sorting through them to share some on Facebook. I plan to post a series of the more amusing ones here.
This is one of me as a baby that we found quite funny. Clearly car seats of the mid-60's were designed with something other than safety in mind!

So cute! My parents did not even use car seats when my older brothers and I were young. I think they used one for my younger brother. Times have changed!
guess the purpose was so you could see out the window! LOL
I can remember jumping up and down in the back (and way back seats) on trips to the beach. The only reason my parents told us to sit down was that we were driving them crazy!
Oh, and you were a beautiful baby!
And, thanks for your comments on my family names. Vivian IS a lovely name - I agree! She is a lovely girl too!
That is hysterical! And how awesome is it that the photo is such good quality? Wow!
What a little doll you were!
OMG! funny...but scary! I remember being in something similar, but often in nothing at all. I will say that my mom had the FASTEST right arm on the planet...she could put her arm out and hold me back when she was going to do anything to cause me to lean forward! Not sure it would have worked in a real accident though.
I remember sitting on "The Hump"...the armrest!
Love that picture! my, how times have changed! Cannot wait to see more pics!
I totally remember car seats like this one. You look so adorable. That little bonnet... I think more mothers ought to use bonnets on their babies!
You are too adorable in the photo! And to think that was a "safety device", YIKES!
At least your parents had car seats! The bonnet was so cute! I left something for you on my blog if you would like to see.
Hi Eloise!
Found your blog through the lady in the stone house and just had to comment on that picture!!! I had a "car seat" just like that and am always so shocked when I see one! I asked my mom once what she did with me as an infant, before sitting up, if it was just she and I in the car. She said she just layed me down on the seat and kept her hand on me around the corners!!!!
We've come a long way!!
Great Blog!

What a cute picture! In those days the neighborhood kids just used to pile in the back of someone's mom's station wagon and nobody ever worried about seat belts either. How times have changed!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What a fun picture...you sure were (and still are) a cutie.
Yes, the old car seats and unsafe toys and we made it. That is an adorable picture of you!!!
Wow that car seat is too funny. I can't believe that it was considered safe. I think you look absolutely precious dressed up with your bonnet!
My folks had a huge pink Mercury and I had that same car seat and bonnet. Funny!
We used to take naps on the back window- crazy!
That is priceless. You look adorable too.
omg! that is hysterical! soooo dangerous - can you even imagine using that today? you'd end up in prison for child abuse!!!!
I'm so sorry about this weekend. My emails were shut down a few times becuase of that giveaway. I'm just soooo sorry!!!!!! Next time for sure!
I never saw one of those before! My Mom used her arm too.
